SUMMARY:Eurelectric conference
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\nClimate\, air pollution\, transport… these buzzwords
figure high on the EU political agenda. No wonder so: the air of our cit
ies today is polluted with fine particles\, SOx & NOx and transport emits
  no less than a 1/4th of Europe’s CO2 emissions.\nTime has come for a cha
nge. This is the strong belief of citizens and policymakers. The EU is th
erefore working on creating a legislative framework for cleaner vehicles\
, mostly through emission standards and public procurement regulatory mea
sures. Following the latest developments in the Parliament’s environmenta
l committee on the CO2 standards for cars and vans\, the proposal is posi
tioned to be both ambitious and realistic. With technologically feasible
and economically viable reduction targets and sales benchmarks\, the mass
integration of EVs in the EU energy ecosystem appears very attainable.\n
But there is more. If we are to develop a real market for EVs in Europe\,
it should be simple to charge everywhere and at any time. It implies app
ropriate infrastructure\, e-mobility services and navigation across Europ
ean borders at optimal quality and prices. Interoperability between charg
ing point operators\, energy and service providers will be key. Is Europe
ready to set up inclusive collaboration around charging contract data\,
payment methods and data authentication across the continent?\nUnderstand
ing this reality\, Eurelectric organises this forum in order to gather th
e most relevant stakeholders in the sector with the goal to send out a st
rong signal that e-mobility is now.\nCome and join us on 8 October to dis
cuss e-mobility with top of the class speakers!\nConfirmed speakers:\n• K

SUMMARY:Save the date for the STARS car sharing expert workshop in Bremen!
DESCRIPTION:The STARS project is happy to invite you to an expert workshop
and a site visit on Thursday\, 24 January 2019 in Bremen (Germany). This
workshop – addressing researchers\, policymakers\, car sharing operators
and transport experts – will inform about the recent STARS research on c
ar sharing:\n\nA comparative study in Germany shows\, that the impact of
car sharing on car ownership and mobility behaviour differs strongly betw
 een car sharing variants (e.g. free-floating\, roundtrip\, peer-to-peer).
These differences are related to user attitudes and certain operational
features of the variants. To increase the impact of some variants\, a sys
tematic integration might be needed.\nA study in Italy\, Sweden and Germa
ny investigates personal attitudes towards cars and sustainability and id
entifies a range of different mobility styles with different affinity tow
ards car sharing. The study shows what attitudes trigger conversion to ca
r sharing and multimodal mobility.\nDifferent car sharing variants can be
attractive to different people. Car sharing users profiles based on soci
oeconomic characteristics and mobility styles have been derived for diffe
rent countries (Germany\, Italy and Sweden) and compared to profiles of p
eople that do not use the service to understand which car sharing schemes
are more attractive to them.\n\nTo register to the workshop: please send
  an email to info@carsharing.de\nwith your name\, function/organisation a
nd a phone contact.\nPlease indicate in your registration email whether y
ou:\n\nwant to join the site visit\nwant to attend lunch\nhave some dieta

limited. Please register by Friday 18th January. There is no extra partic
ipation fee for the workshop.\nAgenda & venue details

ow can we create new mobility services that can be easily deployed\, scal
ed and integrated seamlessly with existing provision and other new mobili
ty services?\nWhat does an open ecosystem and Internet of Mobility look l
ike and what opportunities does it create and why is openness so importan
t?\nThese are the questions on the table at the Open Mobility Conference
2019. This one day conference will bring together innovators and disrupti
ve thinkers\, transport authorities and mobility operators\, technology p
roviders and platform developers in a unique co-creative environment to b
egin to answer these questions.\nThey will consider how we ensure MaaS is
developed in a way that is inclusive\, sustainable and helps tackle clim
ate change.  Participants will consider the transformation to corporate m
indset\, public policy\, investment climate and transport regulations nee
ded to support this development.\nThe conference participants will look a
t the elements and structure of open ecosystems\, the barriers to seamles

SUMMARY:6th European Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans
DESCRIPTION:The 6th European Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan
s will be held on Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 June 2019 in Groningen\, The N
etherlands. The focus of the conference is on providing support to sustai
nable and active cities within the SUMP context\, i.e. how to make cities
more walkable and cycle-friendly.\nThe European Conference on Sustainabl
e Urban Mobility Plans is Europe’s leading annual event for all those inv
olved in putting the SUMP concept into practice. It serves as a forum for
policy makers\, local authorities\, urban transport planners\, academics
\, NGOs and other mobility professionals. The event offers opportunities
to network\, debate key issues and to exchange ideas on sustainable urban
mobility planning. Attendance is free of charge. The 2018 edition in Nic
osia attracted over 500 participants.\nThe conference is co-funded by the
European Commission in cooperation with the Municipality of Groningen.\n
Revision of the SUMP Guidelines\nUpdated SUMP guidelines will be presente
d for review by the SUMP community. Since their launch in 2013\, the guid
elines have become the main reference for the development of Sustainable
Urban Mobility Plans and have been adopted widely across Europe. The Guid
elines are currently being updated to reflect recent trends in mobility\,
technology and society. At various sessions with different formats\, par
ticipants are encouraged to provide their comments and feedback on the dr
aft updated guidelines and give their views on long-term planning for sus
tainable urban mobility.\nHost city Groningen\nGroningen\, a vibrant medi
um-sized city in the north of the Netherlands\, has a tradition of being
a living lab for sustainable urban mobility. It is often referred to as a
good practice example for mobility innovation\, including active and sus
tainable mobility.\nGroningen’s mobility strategy\, a strategic vision fo
r 2035\, is rooted in a long tradition of spatial planning for the city a
nd the city-region. The plan is the result of an intensive co-creation pr
ocess. Its general principle is: on foot or by bicycle if possible\, by c
ar if necessary.\nGroningen aims at optimising multimodality\, zero-emiss
ion and renewable energy\, safety\, inclusiveness and behavioural change\
, while ensuring connectivity between the urban area and its surrounding
sparsely populated area.\nImmediately before the conference\, Groningen i

s a member of CIVITAS and for embedding sustainable ideas into its urban
development and transport systems.\nAlongside having one of Europe’s larg
est pedestrian zones\, the city has rolled out its own intermodal hub sys
tem and was an early implementer of cycling lanes and a parking managemen
t system.\n\nAn urban mobility lab launched in 2017 fosters systemic mobi
lity solutions in combination with e-mobility and other sustainable mobil
ity solutions in the Functional Urban Area of Graz.\nIn recent years\, Gr
az has participated in the CIVITAS projects SMARTSET (2013-2016) and NOVE
 LOG (2015-2018).\n

of air pollution and stress. However\, these consequences don’t appear to
be enough to discourage people from using cars. In fact\, as all manner
of app-based transportation and delivery vehicles are packing the streets

SUMMARY:IMPACT>MOBILITY
DESCRIPTION:Taking place in Amsterdam\, from 24-25 June 2020\, Impact>Mobi
lity\, by Reuters Events will bring together CEOs\, mayors\, transportati
on and city leaders\, innovators and disruptors\, to find a win-win betwe
en the sustainability aims of the public sector and the commercially driv
en private sector.  Build partnerships and move towards a scalable model
for mobility as a service.\nMobility as a Service is set to revolutionise
the sustainability efficiency and convenience of transportation systems.
However\, to make this a reality it is imperative that public and privat
e stakeholders come together. 2020 is the year where Europe’s biggest cit
ies are piloting major projects\, regulating mobility and selecting long-
term MaaS technology and operating partners.\n \nAn Agenda Designed to Tr
ansform Urban Mobility:\n\nAccelerate the Mobility Data Marketplace: Expa
 nd the ecosystem (e.g. retailers\, tourism\, cities\,) through strategic
partnerships to increase monetization of mobility data whilst delivering
actionable insights that enable seamless urban transportation\nDeliver Se
amless Mobility as a Service: Integrate platforms (e.g. micromobility\, p
ublic transit) and develop new partnerships to deliver a truly multimodal
mobility solution serving the needs of the connected consumer\nSmart Pub
lic Transportation for Smart Cities: Leverage connectivity and open APIs
to deliver real time service updates and seamless payments resulting in a
superior mobility proposition that pushes drivers out of their own cars\
nSupercharging E-Mobility: Propagate charging infrastructure\, utilise sm
art grid tech and integrate EVs into shared fleets to drive adoption and
enable cities to reach ambitious sustainability targets\nFinal Destinatio
n – The Last Mile: Harness the power of mobility data (e.g. mapping\, con
gestion etc) to optimise routes\, reduce cost of service and deliver sust
ainable express solutions whilst meeting the needs of the ‘prime’ consume
 r\n\n
