Automated Vehicles and Shared Mobility: Addressing the Big Questions

Much has been written and discussed on the potential impacts of automated vehicles and shared mobility on specific aspects of the transportation system and the travelling public. In this session, members of this National Academies/TRB Forum take a step to discuss the longer term existential issues, including:

• What is the vision(s) for a “fully evolved future?
• What are the potential impacts on roles of different levels of government & private sector?
•  What are the financing and funding implications of AVs & shared mobility?
• What is the importance and role of connectivity?
