The 16th edition of Europe’s premier sustainable mobility event will bring together the CIVITAS community from across the continent and beyond. \nOver three days\, hundreds of policymakers\, city representatives\, academics\, and practitioners will gather to debate pressing topics surrounding sustainable urban mobility and witness the pioneering solutions bringing cleaner\, better transport to Europe. \nParticipants once again have the opportunity to take part in interactive workshops and sessions on the most urgent issues in mobility\, enjoy interesting site visits\, and mingle with the most creative mobility minds in Europe. The city is one of the country’s leading examples of sustainable urban development and its Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan\, adopted in 2011\, laid the foundations for extensive incorporation of green ideas into the transport system. \nIts ultra-fast charging electric bus initiative has been internationally recognised\, receiving the CIVITAS Award for Technical Innovation in 2015\, whilst numerous other sustainable mobility measures are being developed as part of Umeå’s efforts to become a smart city.
